While using a razor blade to scrape some algae in the 55 gal. a corner broke off. It is maybe 1/2" x 1/4". I didn't see where it went and looked as good as I could in the tank but don't see it. What does everyone think of the rust it will produce?

I recently (yesterday) got the Biocube skimmer for the 14 gal. Biocube. It seems to foam o.k. but does anyone else have one in their Biocube and can give any info such as; does it need to break in like a larger skimmer etc.

fish hooks in salt water will completely disintegrate in just a few weeks so that sliver of razor is not a problem, it will simply break down into iron oxide particles, same stuff found in GFO reactors.
cant help ya with the biocube skimmer

Bill is correct about the rust....not a biggie

As far as the skimmer is concerned, I've not used that model. However, I would assume it would need to break in as well. The break-in period is nothing more than the oils used in the manufacturing process being removed....once that occurs, it will still take a little time for the bacterial biofilms to build up.
