Many isopods are not parasitic. Can you take a picture?

There are harmless and harmful isopods. It is very hard to tell them apart, which is why I opted to play it on the safe side when I received my bag-o-pods. Since the ones in my batch all died off after a week in solitude, while the amphipods and copepods remained alive, it would be safe to reason that they were parasitic since they had no host to leech off of.

Take a look at the isopod section, it's a good read.

I just looked at the link, they large ones with all the legs are your standard amphipods and the smaller ones are copepods. I don't see any isopods in that image. All the ones shown in that link are reef safe; they are good food for the fishes. :)

The smaller of the 2 pictured are copepods. The larger in the picture are munnid isopods. These, as said, are beneficial to your tank. Just wanted to bring some clarification to the names/references.
