so the my yellow tang is having some thin white filaments come out with his poop. I dont want to jump to conclusions about parasites just yet. I feed him chaeto, nori, formula 2, ulva, and other living seaweed... could these white strings be leftovers/ un-digestable parts from the chaeto?

Dingo, I know that alot of people here will argue this, But I feed my Tangs 1 Romaine leaf a day. They are all VERY HEALTHY and digest it easier than Chaeto. JMO.

Yeah, chaeto will do that. I would not worry about it, but I would try to limit the amount of chaeto the tangs can eat.
