I've got some ulva in the unused bio-ball section of my wet-dry, with a 65W PC bulb over it. In the last 3 days or so, its started to look bleached, with some areas turning clear.

    Any ideas?

The chaeto seems to be fine.

Lack of nutrients, remove the bad sections and thin your chaeto to get the ulva going.

It may not have enough nutrients to survive. I'm not sure about that particular species, but if you don't have enough nutrients in the water for the amount of macro algae, it will start to die and disintegrate.
