    What ever mollusk you have I bet it's probably harmless, and older based on the calcified worm growth on the shell.

    Yes Corailline...that looks just like what is in my tank. On the other hand, I haven't seen it move from that same spot in 3 days now....

    The pic Coralline posted looks to be an abalone (note the gill openings in the shell). If that's your critter, it will have the same row of "holes" in its shell.
