Ok I have a 24g Nano with stock lighting hood.. I found a cheap HQI hood upgrade that someone is selling and its in great shape. I want to get more corals and different kinds. Currently I have a Toadstool a pink pearl bubble and a clown and damsel. I would like to start getting some SPS corals and get more into my tank.

Should I pull the trigger on this? Or am I asking for problems with heat and such. Thanks

A lot of the nano cube companies make a retrofit hood that had MH lights and an increased number of fans to help cool it down. I haven't heard or read any responses as to how these actually work but something you might wanna check out.

It will fit flush on the top of the tank. So I would have to prop it open to let air out. here is the stock set up and here is the HQI set up.

Ever thought about doing a T5 upgrade? You could keep the SPS no problem and wouldn't have the heat issues.
