Currently have Powercompacts 2x65w10,000's, and 2x65 actinics.... I have a 75gallon and feel I need something a bit more stronger if I'm going to start housing a variety of corals... So After getting my income tax money back ;D, I am looking at getting this
    48 inch Current USA Outer Orbit 2x150W 10K HQI-MH w/ 2x130W Dual Actinic & 6 Lunar Lights (Saltwater Aquarium Supplies > Lighting > Fixtures > Metal Halide > Metal Halide w/ Power Compacts > Double End MH > with Moon Lights > 48in )
Would this be a good lighting system for a 75gallon If i intend to house a variety of LPS, etc?
    Any help, always appreciated.

I would say thats a VERY good choice for a 75.
And Yes most stony's and you'd be supprised at some of the softies lighting requirements .

Would this lighting system be overkill for the soft coral in my tank?

well if you can "time" the MH to cycle on or off ... easy to do i should say.. timers/ or built in ?
and moving your softies down lower in the tank' youd be supprized at how much more light the softies like
