upgrading tank/CuC.

currently my 20 high looks like ****. algae is out of control. I am moving about 20 min away and upgrading tanks to at least a 45 gallon. Do you think i should spend $10 and get 3 nassarius snails for now from a LFS? or just simply order my cleanup crew from reefcleaners and transfer them to the new tank when i do the tank move? if i do order from reefcleaners and get the CuC next week, how am i going to be able to transfer all the little Cerith snails and others. Maybe when i transfer tanks, i sift through the sand and find all the littler critters/snails then drop them in the new tank?

 

is there a typo there? 3 for ten bucks? do you have to give them your leg and your first born son as well? definitely wait it out

 

Nass snails can be found by putting food in the tank. They'll come out of the sand to find it.

That said, they're stupidly expensive at 3 for $10, and they don't eat algae.

 

see i know, this LFS is so *#$!#$&!!#$&* over priced. its ridiculous, but what do you guys think, should i order from reefcleaners now? and just find the cleanup crew when i transfer everything into the new tank?

just get your stuff from johnny. always good stuff, always a great price.

just use a net to sift out the snails.

im stuck with those prices too...3$/each or 25/10. im in canada tho so i can't even call on john. online vendors here sell for 1.29$ for bluelegs hermits and 1.59 for snails...just doesnt seem fair. oh and i have high taxes too... ok, enogh QQ for me.

john has specials all the time, but ur best bet is just asking him to make you a pack when u setup the new tank.

 

hah another canadian! yea were getting screwed here. i know how you feel dont worry your not the only one forced to pay those prices
