    OK,
So I received my shipment og the two part Bulk reef supplies of Mag, ALK, and Calcium

    My starting numbers were:
    PH - 8.2 ish
    KH - 7
    CA - 440
    MAG - 1280

I added per the BR calculator and now my numbers are:
    PH - 8.5 ish
    KH - 9
    CA - 520
    MAG - 1320

I will re dose the ALK each day until I get to 11 / 12
I will redose the Mag until I get to 1440

My question is, once I reach these numbers, do I just check and dose as needed or is there a mkaintenance dose to keep things stable ?

    This is from their site
"Once the dose is dialed in continue daily dosing until the gallon jugs of Calcium and Alkalinity are finished. At this point it is time to dose 20oz of the Magnesium solution. This can be done entirely in one dose just remember to add slowly to a high flow area of the tank. "

Not sure why the mag was supposed to come last, and I dont understand the daily dosing. If the numbers are where I want them then why dose ? and it doesnt say how much.

    Anyone familiar with this ?

    Thanks

The daily dosing is to get the elements up to where you want them to be. After you have achieved that, its a matter of finding out what your comsumption rate is and dose accordingly. For ex., I have to dose Mag more frequently b/c of the mangroves that I have. Luna

fwiw - your Ca is kind of high.

The KH and Ca is a balance that needs to be achieved. Without getting into the chemistry, I'd recommend just dosing the alk (or dosing very little Ca) until you see something more in line with:

    KH - 10
    Ca - 450

Then start from there dosing both parts.

Honestly I wouldn't dose anything. Most people wold LOVE to have a plain and simple 9 dkH instead of 11 or 12. Ca is alittle high but your corals will take care of that. Unfortunately they will also use CO3 as well so you might need to add a LITTLE buffer but not too much as it is TOO EASY to add TOO MUCH!!! Mg could go up, according to the rule of 3 1/4 it should be at 1690 according to the current Ca levels.
Lets ask this, what levels DO you want?
