v2 1000

hi all,
skimmer doesnt seem to be skimming! just clean bubbles no dark anything. any iput? thanks!!

 

Some more info would be helpful, tank size, stocking, type of skimmer.
It could be there is nothing to skim.

120gallon. skimmer is a v2 1000. complete set up but never had a skimmer and just got a used skimmer that was working on another tank. i read somewhere else that the v2 skimmers take a week to pull out what "better" skimmers can pull out in a day. (?)

 

really if its making bubbles that are reaching near the collection cup its only a matter of time before there comes to be enough build up for it to collect some skimmate. just give it some time. how long has it been running?

I would give it a week at least, but like they said, if you are getting bubbles that reach the top, then all seems OK so far...
