I don't have a lot of Valentine's Day memories because my ex-wife usually threw a party for her single girlfriends and I was kicked out of the house. On one such evening, I was going to go to the LFS and get some food to kill time. I wandered into my local White Castles and they were having a Valentines Day party. There was romantic music playing, half of the tables had tablecloths and lit candles, and they had table-side service. For people like me who had no reservations, I had to pick up my food and bus my own table on the "single" side of the restaurant. Watching people make goo goo eyes at each other while downing a belly-bomber (slider) is truly a surreal experience.

Do any of you have interesting stories?

The past few years haven't been that interesting but this year is going to be AWESOME! I haven't been to an ocean and as one on my passions was to be a marine biologist, made me sad. My husband told me a few weeks ago that we were going to see elton John in concert again in Oregon and that made me happy. He then told me, "Baby, I made one of your dreams come true with you salt water tank and now I'm going to take you to the ocean to make another one reality." I almost started crying because I was so excited. We leave out Feb 15th and it will all happen Feb 17. I know its a few days afterwards but its the best delayed present EVER :)

interesting stories - about Valentines day

the most interesting one occured 2 years ago
decided to do the general thing and buy flowers
left it a bit late, the shops only have really massive bouquets left
could not go home empty handed, so commited to one

shop is 20 mins from where I live
local taxi drivers took one look at me carrying a large urn full of flowers and pretended they could not see me

this thing was heavy, so no way was I walking home with it

the people in the shop recognised my dilema
    and offered their services
the large casket of flowers was placed on a pallet, and a pump truck was then used to push it the 20 mins journey to my home

with me walking ahead of it showing them where I lived

did I feel like a complete Muppet

    of course I did

    Steve

We are going to Eugene, OR for a concert then Florence, OR for the beach/ocean. I will have my camera and will post pics of my whole trip since 2 of the 4 doxies are going to go with us too. ;D We leave out tomorrow afternoon and going to stop in Missoula, MT where they have a very nice SW fish store bwahahahaha. Ya, I'm used to the Great Lakes from where I am from. I have been to 3 of them and they are just awe strucking. They are so vast with HUGE ships on them, lake life galore and waves that tower.
