I didn't mean everyone meant to be offensive. I'm also in the process of quitting caffeine, so I may come across more agitated than I am.
I should probably state that I teach Biology at the university level, I understand the species. I'm not asking for species.

As an example... with zoas... if I said I had "Purple People Eaters", someone, knowing that name... would have a reasonable expectation for color variants and would be able to tell my "Green Bay Packers" were not "Purple People Eaters". I know that acans have named color variants. I understand that pretty much no common naming exists across corals, but I've never stated I thought that to be the case.

Suggesting no difference occurs is obviously not what you're doing. Otherwise, they could change from one color variant (like Rainbows) to another (like "blue eyes" or whatever). I wouldn't care if the ones in the tank had 3+ commercially available names. I do understand I have Acan. lord. And I'm glad I know that much... but I would like to know more if it exists. I'm sure I'm not the only one in the ID boat that just wants to know what it is beyond a species tag... after all, Canus lupis is a species with a host of subspecies include many different pure breeds and people wouldn't be content stopping at the species tag on that.

Not all common pieces have a common name.... that appears to be a rather run of the mill common acan lord, I have seen about 100 identical to extremely similar and I don't even like acans personally. Sure its not an ugly acan, but its not going to be a highly coveted gotta name it something flashy and charge a bunch type of acan. Most vendors would just name/list that by listing the colors or a couple colors and mentioning its an acan or maybe even acan lord (but most would just refer to it as an acan or ___ striped acan)

So to sum up 2+ pages of dancing around the point and putting rickroll facebook links... "I don't think it has a common name"... cool, we can close the thread now. Thanks for those that tried helping.

I have not seen many "commercial" names given to acans. Just look around and you should find plenty of color morphs on various sites.

Good luck on your quitting caffeine.
