Well after hours of research I have found that my DT is infected with "Velvet":-[. As a beginner to the hobby i made yet again another mistake with adding fish without QT the fish first. After my cycle i was fish happy and added added added..after my research i have found to start the sure i should take these steps,

1 Fresh water dip each fish (3 min each)
2 setup QT tank with lower salinty at 1.015
3 QT all fish in same tank and start medicating with copper 10-14 days
4 medicate DT with copper and leave empty (no fish) for 10-14 days

Can anyone let me know if I am on the right track here. should i just medicate without Qting since DT is already infected? being new to the hobby i have never delt with any diseases before..Does anyone have any other ideas that might help, any info will be helpful. Thanks guys/girls

I've never owned one, so I could be wrong, but aren't puffers easily killed by copper?

If it is Marine Velvet turning out the lights for a couple of days will help. The parasites contain Chlorophyll and need the light for food production.

well Reeron, ur right, if i use copper i will most likely kill my puffer, i QT him on his own incase he does happen to pass then he wont release his fluids and waste my DT for sure... any ideas on how i should take care of this issue, im 99.5% sure its Marine Velvet, all the symptoms point to it. should i medicate my DT the way it sits with the rest of my fish in there? what copper products should i use? what other medications should i use if any? thanks..
its current setup is described above (FOWLR). Thanks
