Well as the title says, I am very upset. started to get my tank under control after a very long time. got sump/refug going well with lots of cheato growing and lowering the nitrates. In a prior thread I posted about an anthias I had that was sick (eyes bulging out). I havent been able to catch him due to my rock work. well last night I posted again about my water being cloudy and noticed my LTA was releasing a nasty looking stuff from his mouth, thought maybe normal, but still didnt think it was looking right (shrinking up some). the next stage of my saga (to me its a saga), was my water starting smelling foul, found the reason was a dead anthias, again behind rock work with my large brittle star working on it. so I assume the death of the fish caused the Nem to be bothered. Was hoping the CuC could do their job. well must be cause I cant find the remainder of the fish, water smells a little better over night. However the saga continues. I was looking at my sump making sure skimmer was working full bore, then I looked behind my tank, and what should I see but my sunrise dottyback on the ground still alive. again my luck continues because it was on the ground in the back corner...the only place I cant reach. so all in all a very bad couple days and hoping doesnt continue. doing RO water now so I can do a Water change...wish me luck! anyways just needed to vent some since my 3 year old doesnt understand...lol

That sucks, really bad luck. If it makes you feel better, I've flooded my basement several times and have had 3 fish jump and die.

Sorry to hear about your recent string of bad luck, hang in there. We have all been there, and it just makes enjoy the smooth times more. I'll send some K+ your way, maybe it will help.

I just Flooded under my cabinet. Bad Sump. It's all about how you recover that counts. You'll be fine soon.

I feel your pain. When we started, we had two small male percs chased out of the tank by the female. Hard lessons learned, but we now made sure to make our tank very hard to jump out of.

    Keep your chin up

I had a bichir in my freshwater tank. He is basically an eellike fish. He would jump out in the middle of the night and bounce against the wall. It would sould like someone was hammering a nail into a stud with a sledge hammer.

We have all been there. Let the tank settle down and move on. It is saddening, but when things are at their worst it can only get better from there.

Pecco, Buy a couple "Poly-Filter Pads". Use one now and keep one on hand. I like to keep one handy for just that type of "emergency". They work superbly.
