I have a huge skimmer on my tank! The fish only tank is probally cleaner then my reef tank. Its actually my sons tank but I do the maintaince after a lion sting a few months back! I will say the skimmer is a must on the tank. They are messy eaters unlike the reef tank. I would say rate your skimmer way over the size of the tank. they eat big and waste big.

instead of a brittle, since ur doing a predator tank, you should do Chocolate Chip star...they are MEAN too..lol My Star lives with 2 triggers and a valentini puffer in that tank...that is a star fish holding its own..and he does a great job at cleaning up the triggers mess

Nah...mine doesnt eat anything but the leftovers...and if i put an unlucky crab in there he might hunt it down...but i have a HUGE hermit crab living in that tank too..and nothing has happened to him yet...but this is like the Arnold Schwarzenegger of hermits..lol in all...the Choc Chip will leave the fish alone, but will hunt on most inverts or corals
