    I would rather rely on snails than fish for sand sifting. When a fish sifts sand, it's eating the critters in the sand bed.

    Try and engineer goby tough as a old boot and seldom seen when they grow up the get long and look like a ell ..I like them myself matters not if you have fine sand or C.Coral or C. oyster shell they will re engineer it for you;D

    Im not aware of how much room the fish needs, but wouldnt a leopard wrasse do good? As it tries to hide, it darts itself into the sand thus sifting the sand and not feeding on your critters.

    He has been eating pretty good here lately. I put a lawnmower blenny in there with him to help keep him company. The blenny just seems to bite at the LR instead of the sand, neat personality though.

    That's because the lawnmower is primarily an herbivore. :)
