Does anyone else have problems with heaters as I do? We just had another one pop a few days ago and the tank was sitting at 70 degrees. It seems like every 2 months a heater is breaking and fails to work anymore. With a 90G settup, we have a 300W heater in the display and another heater in the sump.

Why do they break so easily and whats a good brand that works well?

Stealth broke after a month, marineland didn't last more than 2 months.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck with heaters, I would recommend getting a titanium type although ive never had this problem with glass encased heaters.

Stealth and marinland is the same company so perhaps try another company. Also there was a recall on stealth heaters.

    Good Brands, Ebo-Jager, Titanium, Fluval,

Go jagger. By far the best heaters on the market

I had a jagger pop on me too, though they are really nice when working. I personally use a ViaAqua titanium just because its cheap, I use a controller to avoid overheating (not the most trustworthy built in thermos) and didn't want another broken glass mess in the sump.

I have a question. Do you have a ground probe on your system? After having 2 heaters pop so early on and in a row, you may have something shocking the system, ie: in-sump pump. A ground probe may help prevent another destroyed heater
