    What is everyone's preference on water test results.

    Here are mine:
    PH: 8.2
    Alkalinity: 9dkh
    Specific Gravity: 1.023-1.024
    Ammonia: 0
    Nitrite: 0
    Nitrate: 0
    Phosphate: <0.03ppm
    Calcium: 450-500
    Magnesium: 1350ppm

    ~~~~~~~~
    Another question for you guys What would you do if these were your test results?
    PH: 8.0
    Alkalinity: 9.5dkh
    Specific Gravity: 1.025
    Ammonia: ~0
    Nitrite: ~0
    Nitrate: 3.5
    Phosphate: <0.024ppm
    Calcium: 472ppm
    Magnesium: 1343ppm
    No real preference aside from very low Nitrate and Phosphate and naturally ammonia and nitrite at 0
    currently mine are
    Mag - 1430
    Calcium - 430 ish
    DKH - 9 - 9.3
    PH - 8.17 at peak
    phosphate and nitrate both reading zero on salifert and red sea kits respectedly
    if the numbers listed in the 2nd section where mine on my soft coral and LPS tank, I would do nothing
    if the numbers where like that in my SPS tank, I would look at methods for reducing the Nitrate and Phosphate, and would probably carbon dose, and run GFO at the same time
    I wouldn't worry about the results. I might do a water change to get the nitrates down. Clean my equipment and sump thoroughly and maybe cut back on feeding a little.
    What is Alkalinity supposed to be at? My test kit says something 1.7 - 2.8 is normal and I usually fall in the middle of that range.
