HI, I'm highly considering getting a wave maker for my 57 gallon oceanic rimless, now the guys at my LFS told me my tank was to "small" to have one of these, now obviously i dont want a tidal wave in my tank but just something to keep switching currents, i would like some more input on this before i spend the cash to do it. Heres my tank

It looks like you already have a MP unit in there. Correct me if I am wrong, may just be a Koralia just out of sight.

What are you looking for that an MP cannot do?

No tank is too small for a wavemaker. Flat out.

no its a koralia, i was lookin at the MP's actually lol but they told me my tank was to small, they dont really know all that much at the LFS, well one of the stores i go to... i mean they have over 50 salt tanks running off one system... so if one fish gets a parasite, they all get it.. but what kind of wave maker would you suggest?? and how big

You could benefit from any of the MP series. You look like you have pretty good flow as is, so a massive amount would not be needed. An MP40 would be more than enough for a tank that size. You do not have to run them at full power. You can set the max speed at anything you want, then set the program. A MP20 would be just about perfect power-wise, but are not the most popular due to their inability for wireless control. This is not a problem if you only have one unit though. They can be upgraded later however.

You could always run two mp10s too and run them on opposite sides toothat's what the wireless ones are designed for and some of the modes are designed for 3 units.

yea my main pump needs to be upgraded, i put a trident down in my sump, to run 3 things at once, but the result on that was less flow in my tank through the flex tubes, wireless isnt that big of a deal to me, i usually do everything that im going to do during the day manually, now currently in my tank as far as power heads go i have the koralia 750, and a maxi-jet 1200 the problem im having is i have debris sitting down in my tank and with the black sand ive got it looks terrible, but what are the benefits of a wave-maker im pretty new to the hobby so i dont have much of a clue on things like that, thanks for the help!

Cheaper alternative would be to buy the eco mod fir the 1200 I had two on my 90 for a while till I upgraded to one mp40. A wave maker will give give a more natural flow to the tank rather than one constant directional flow.

Where would i find one of those?? and in my pic you can see i have the 750, and the 1200 currents kind of crashing, and the return hoses from my main pump are actually hitting that stream as well but i just dont like the flow, my corals are barely moving on my bridge, and i want it to be more natural then what ive got...
