i really would like to ask everyone about wave makers do you really need them.
i was told you should have them. but you do not need them.

    so i was looking at
EcoTech Marine VorTech MP10 ES Propeller Aquarium Pump at PETCO

but i do not know anything about wave makers and i would like something around 150 dollars if there is one out there.

No you do not need them. A nice thing to have but for most tanks not needed. For large sps dominated tanks they are great.

The idea behind them is that in nature you have the natural surges that provide food for the corals as well as remove waste and provide oxygen.

IMO Vortech is the top of the line, hense the reason they are so expensive. Makes a nice xmass gift to your self.

You have a 55 gal right? You should probably look at the mp20 then.

What do you have in the way of powerheads now?

For a 30 gal breeder the mp10 would be fine.

Guess your tank just looks bigger;D

I would get one but my tank is too small and the koralia 4 is all I need and then some.

    No

You can try out the mp10 and see what you think and then supplement with the koralia if you do not see enough flow. Kinda of depends on what you want and what your plans are livestock wise for the tank. LPS and softies are not going to need massive amounts of flow.

LOL.... 4% off. That is just hilarious.
There are much better prices out there. TB Aquatics, Aquacave, Marine Depot. Shop around for the best price.

As for the Vortech... I have 2 MP40Ws. I love them and don't think I ever want a tank without them now that I have tried them. Do you need them?.... well No. But they are awesome. Massive amounts of flow, and the different modes make it awesome.
