I have a SCWD (squid) wave maker but I want to put a better wave maker on my 72 while I am still designing it.
I was thinking of doing 3 koralias on one side and 3 on the other with that wave make power outlet thing that has 6 plug-ins and you can alternate the time in between cycles.

Is Koralia the best for the money? with appearence into consideration.
    Should I run 2, 4 or 6 heads?
Is 6 over doing it for Acro?
and what number Koralia is ideal for a 72g bow?
would I be over killing it with 6 #4 Koralias?
or would my reef be in heaven?

Open to opinions! Don't be affraid of someone saying their way is better. I know everyone has their own opinion... PLEASE DO GIVE INPUT!

I have no experience trying what you want to, I have read on forums and I think even on the Koralia site (don't quote me) that they are not designed for wave makers.

There are certain one that are designed to work with the wave controller they offer. I wouldn't run 6 power heads. Maybe 4 Korlia 2s, or two 2s and a 3?

6 #4's would be taking up A LOT of space in a 72.

That is exactly what i wanted to know.
I was wondering, even with a soft start,
with all that on and off, on and off...
Won't it kill those power heads?
I saw this thing the "sweeps" left to right continuously
and has a high gph but I can't find it anymore.
If you know what I'm refering to,
    Do you know the name?
What is a good way of wave making?

I had a guy buying coral off me tell me his friend took a timer and raised every other tab to make the heads turn off and on and took another timer and sinc'd it opposite of the first in order to push the other way... kinda ghetto but it works I guess.. lol

Thank you all for your responces.
I have never used a wavemaker power outlet or Koralias before.
I just think they look alot better then the old square ones I have now.
So, I would be better buying 2 Koralias compatible of wave making but definitly not as big as #4s? I saw the #3s online for 2 for 40 with free shipping. The #4s 2 for 50 I think. (Don't quote me) I was just surfing for Koralia prices.

So for my 72 bow, they are recommending #2 which is $489.00?

I like the flow and 2 gallon "gush" idea but pricey... if I'm reading it right?

That's probably about the same price as those Tunze wavemakers.

That's just too much for me to spend on a wave maker.
I like my $30-ish SCWD... lol.
I saw 2 heads for $40-$50 and figured about $100
and $100 on the outlet/ recepticle.
I am still saving for a calcium reactor. :(
