    Jason,
When I had freshwater tanks, I used a rule of thumb of 10 lbs per gallon. The rationale is that the rocks, equipment and the tank itself will add to the weight, proportionate to how large the tank is.

    Fletch,
Don't trust that tank calculator too much, it has at least one math error in it. It says the rule is 1 inch of fish for 5 gallons of water, but then multiplied the tank size by 0.7. This would give me 31 inches of fish in my 45 gallon tank!

365? Cool. You know there is a problem with tanks that size...

After a while they don't look that large and then where do you go? You know your are in trouble if your sig other at some point says it's not that big. It's amazing how fast they fill up.

BL I think my sig other will put an end to any future plans of a bigger tank. So I won't need to worry about going larger. She will make sure of that. :)

Ya I know. My Wife is convinced I wanted a bigger house so I could get a bigger tank. It's true but I'll never admit it.

So if I post that we are moving you know what will be next ;)

Hey BTW any tips on stand building for the powertool challenged

I found a guy on E-bay out of KY that builds custom unfinished stands for cheaper than I could do it myself. They also follow fish shows around for free delivery. I don't know about Vancouver... You might be a little too far North for those Southern boys, eh? Do you want me to try and dig up a link?
