I was wondering that since i have a well on my house if that water wouldn't work with a salt water tank. When it comes into my house i run it through a UV light and a filter ( filter probably doesn't do much). I also think my water is pretty hard. Also if i can't use that water how else am i supposed to fill it short of buying 1 gallon jugs;)?

You need a ro/di unit. Reverse Osmosis/ Deionization unit.

$150- $200 will get you a nice unit. AirWaterIce.com or BuckeyeFieldSupply.com are both highly recommended.

maybe this is a stupid question but how does the ro/di unit hook up? does it go into the tank flow and new water i put in is gradually filtered?

Tap into your cold water supply under the sink or washer for the feed to the unit, and you need a waste water return

Never run a SW tank without RO/DI. You will only have problems later on to deal with.

true, go to buckeyefieldsuppy.com for your ro or ro/di unit they are extremely good and if you want the make a drain saddle for the drain pipe to your sink hook it up and forget about it
