My day has gone horribly wrong. Here's the scenario:
    1. Bought a jawfish recently for my nano, noticed he wasnt eating or coming out of his home, so I bought garlic extreme a few days ago. No improvement. Went back to my LFS and bought some live brine shrimp to hope that he will eat that. I also bought a beautiful yellow leather toadstool for my 75.(always wanted one, LFS never had them so I had to get it.
2.Got home, noticed that the jawfish was poking his head out. So I poured some brine in, no luck didnt eat and went back into his home.
    3. About 2 hours later I check on the jawfish, dead as a doornail with snails and shrimp eating him. Just Great....
    4. Boyfriend came home from hunting all of 2 hours ago, I showed him the new leather, we checked out the 75 everything fine and dandy.
    5. Getting ready to turn the lights out on the 75, get sidetracked and get something to eat.
    6. After eating(all of 10 mins) I noticed that everything on my tank is off- EVERYTHING

The skimmer cup overflowed!! There was absolutely no water in it the first time I went to turn off the lights, so in a matter of 10 mins it completely overflowed! So I unplug all the cords wipe everything off, although none of the cords seemed wet at all. Plug everthing back in and NOTHING, nothing is working, I'm completly stressed and POed! Of course my boyfriend is in a deep sleep not waking up to anything, so Im left to figure this all out on my own.

I hope I can get everything working again before I go to bed.

But what a flipping HORRIBLE day!!! I mean within a matter of 4-5 hours my day has gone to hell.

    Well RIP pearly!!
Hopefully I won't be updating with more RIP- unless it's my STUPID hawkfish I've been trying to catch for the past month.

Sorry long post, Im just stressed and buying some time for maybe something to dry out before I attempt to plug everything back in again.

I think thats what has your Jawfish freaked out, you try to catch the Hawkfish. Sorry for the loss. Do you have a GFIC outlet? Luna

Actually the jaw and hawk are in two different tanks, the jaw in my nano, and the hawkfish in the 75 g. I'm not frequently in the 75 maybe once a week, and then I try the trap. So that doesn't solve the jaw problem, I have 2 clowns and a royal gramma in the nano also and they are alive, fat and healthy.

As for the GFIC, I'm assuming you mean one the trips if it gets wet or something, if so then yes- kinda-
The actual outlet on the wall is not, but the power strips are. If that makes any sense

Check for a blown fuse on the power strip or a reset button. Also check the circuit pannel for a tripped breaker. another thing to do is take the plugs and put them right into the outlet to see if they are working.

sounds like the bad day i had yesturday karma to you and hope you figure it out.

Give the Jaw some time to adjust to his new home, Royal Gramma's can be aggressive, esp. if he was one of the first fish introduced into the tank. Check to see if the power strip has tripped. Luna

    Ok, update:
Just tried everything again(its been about 30-45 mins now)
Worked for two seconds and tripped again, I think I've narrowed it down to the actually the outlet on the wall, I'm assuming it got wet, I'm going to let it dry out for another half hour or so and try again.

The tank looks so wierd being absolutely still, I don't think my corals care for it to much.

+1 Probably a blown fuse. If nothing turns on you should check the circuit breaker to see if it got tripped.

    Edit: posted your update first.

So , my question is will it dry out eventually to put back in, and 2,
I'm really tired and want to go to bed, will my tank make it through the night, with no flow, filtration, or protein skimmer? Please Help

I would get some extension cords until you can get the outlet replaced. Replacing the outlet is not hard to do but make sure you TURN OFF THE BREAKER in the panel ont he wall first!!!!!!!!!! use a few extension cords because the wires are not big enough to put too many things on. (unless you are using bigger than normal household extension cords) the reason why I would replace the outlet is that salt corrodes....

This sounds horrible, but I honestly don't even have any extensions cords, will my tank make it through the night and are you saying that outlet is pretty much shot. Forgive, I'm clueless on electrical, like I said my BF is refusing to wake up or help me for that matter, so I'm on my own- well except for you guys!
