what are these?

    Assuming you are talking about the pink branching things, it looks like a calcerous algae, I'm pretty sure they use calcium to grow, kind of like some corals.

    Feel it, if its hard then its most likely a species of calcerous algae.

    Normaly they are a good sign in your tank, as they tend to be tidious unless under great conditions.

    If they aren't hard, but soft and almost slimey, then its probably some other form of macro algae.

    But as everyone suggested i'd PM john at reef cleaners.

    yea i sent him a private message earlier waiting for a reply and yes its hard and not slimy im leaning towards maybe branching coralline algae

    +1 to a plating coralline algae then. are the branches flexible at all? jointed? Do they have a small pit at the very end of the branch? or some other feature or does the very tip of the algae lack any features? the pic is kind of blurry, but you can still tell it is attractive, and not a nuisance in my book. I guess it matters what is supposed to occupy that real estate.
