Ok I have a black background and I know it's personal preference but what I wanted to know is what people prefer to use or what they believe shows off the colours of the livestock better? Blue or Black??

I have both now and i like the Royal Blue Paint from rustolum it makes the tank look nicer and brighter. Had I not been so lazy I'd have scraped the black off of this 180 and painted it with the royal blue.. But hind sight is always 20/20 But after the little portion of the rear glass tht is visiable becomes encrusted with purple and pink coralline it really matters not Oh I painted this one Black because when I drilled it made to overflows all I had enough of to make the cornor overflows was black acrylic and no Blue ): Thats why its black and why I did not scrape it .. But as a rule when i make overflows for anyone they all seem to prefere the blue acrylic other then the black.

I agree with Tangster that a blue looks great. However I'm to lazy to keep the backside clean therefore it just turns purple anyways.

I personally like black better. The tank appears darker and the corals really pop out when the lights hits them.

I use a mirror cut to the size of the tank. And contrary to popular belief, the fish dont chase their reflections around all day. Occasionally my puffer would do this at first but he soon stopped. The mirror really brightens up the tank.
