    Hi folks

Help needed - I have had my 50 gal reef tank up and running for about 8 weeks now, have about 30k of live rock, several corals, Zoa, Zenia Mushrooms etc. and now feel the time is right to start adding the fish.

I'm thinking of 2 Tangs a Yellow and a Kole
    2 Clowns (pair)
    1 Bi-colour Dwarf Angel
    1 male Anthias
1 Yellow watchman Goby and maybe one Wrasse.

Question is can I keep all these together and can I introduce them all at the same time. I know the two Tangs need to be added together to prevent territory issues and obviously the pair of clowns go in together but what about the others and can I add 7 fish at the same time. I'm hoping that if I can they will each find there own space.

    All advice welcome

    Thanks

    David

50 gallons is small for a tang let alone 2
I would pass on the tang
If you r dead set on a tang I would recommend the kole over the yellow
I'm not sure about anthias but idk if a 50 gallon is too small

Lastly you shouldn't add all of them at the same time they need to be spread out

unfortunately, the tangs require a bigger tank than a 50. A bi-color angel is probably not reef compatible. In terms of the others on your list, they should be ok. I have not kept anthias so I hope others will chime in. In terms of adding fish, you want your most aggressive to be added last. Depending on what type of wrasse you're thinking of that will determine your order - some wrasses like a six-line are very aggressive while others I believe not so much. When adding new fish, you really want to add no more than 2 at a time, ideally one at a time spaced about a week to two weeks apart so your biological filter can adjust to the increase bioload. HTH. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news on the tangs :(

Thanks for the advice, probably saved me some money already and I've only been a member for a couple of days.

Good advise above, you need to take it slow when adding livestock to a new setup even if it has had plenty of time to cycle. It can take a long time for a tank(biological system) to mature.

Also anthias are a small fish but very active and need a bigger tank.
For a 50 gallon I would look more into the small fish like. Gobies, dartfish and blennies.
They're a lot of fun to watch.

If you want tangish like fish, look to some of the smaller angelfish varieties like coral beauties, flame angels, etc..
