2 500 watt titanium heaters and have them on a controller.

that's actually exactly what i would like, but I don't need the controller. are you just buying 2 500 watts with 2 controllers? or did you find a place that sells the heating elements separately?

I don't particularly trust JBJ stuff for critical components. Finnex seems to be excellent for Titanium. jaggers are always outstanding as well, but are glass.

hmm.... Originally Finnex was my first choice, but, like loneracer05, I like that magnetic holders that the JBJ have and mine will also be close to acrylic. Like you say, it is a critical componet however, so I may just stick with the finnex. Decisions, decisions..

i also choose the jbj because i have a acrylic sump. well the heater went bad in 6 months time. the company did replace the bad part. but now after reading up on them, i now don't trust it. i use the controller from the jbj unit ,since i have it, its set to cut power at the temp of 80, i run my tank at 76-77, i have a jagar with its own thermostat plugged into the jbj controller. the jbj heating wand i use for bringing fresh saltwater up to tank temp, my finger is the thermostat for that ...lol
my jbj seemed like a dream when i got it. water was always the same. it was perfect.....till..... it went bad and sent water temps all over the place. i touch the water it feels very warm... a few hours later cold. this went on a few days till i gave it thought.

oh i use the magnet's from the jbj to hold other things. i have glued suction cups to the jbj magnet. oh the hook up of the magnet's while being used by the jbj heater i found to fall off with just a tap from moving things in the sump, the hook up of the heating wand to the magnet is poorly designed, magnets are strong though, just poor design to hook heater to them. the heating wand laid at the bottom of my sump.
i was on another forum and seen someone ordered water safe magnets from a company in pa. you might want to get the other heater and glue the suction cups to magnets
