How long has it been there?...It looks like a bleached polyp...could be aptasia..I have had them look like that after I moved a rock and exposed it to light for the first time...jmo...don't really know.
I'd be more concerned with the algae. : )

i was thinking it was a bleached polyp also. That was the first thing that popped into my mind, the other was aptasia but I dont think it is.

I wouldnt really worry about the polyps. You will need to take care of the hair algea on the rock. Try a turbo snail........will work wonders

    time for a clean up crew...wont hurt....and watch the polyp...see if it colors up or spreads...not a crisis though...no worries...4th week...situation looks normal. : )

go slow...get some snails, a variety ...hermits crabs are a personal choice..some folks don't like them..IME, never an issue..might hold off on any shrimp or high money stuff..
did'nt catch what size ya got..but thats relative. : )...But go ahead and get some snails in there....just a couple of a few different flavors to start. : ) jmo. : )

..it came with algae? That sux... just get a couple turbos as mentioned by schackmel..and a couple other kinds...whatevers available at the lfs...that will do for now.
...also..any algae you can scrape or scrub off easily will help things out (the green stuff)
