Green star polyps. Keep them off your rocks or they will overgrow everything! Put them on the sand bed ASAP!

If you want to take them off I have had success with a razor blade and gently lift a corner and pull them off. Or if you like them keep them like Brannock said over time they will take over rock, glass, plastic, and fish just playing about fish but the other stuff for sure!!!!!!!!!

Just peel them off the rock and then scrape off any mat that was stuck to the rock. They are very resilient and will not be hurt by this. I had a 1 inch frag nearly a year ago and now it is over 10 inches x 10 inches (after being fragged multiple times)! I put it in my girlfriends softie nano because I didn't want it overrunning the entire tank.

can you get a pic of it closed up? the polyps look more like pipe organ coral than green star polyps to me but it would be easy to tell if there was a pic of it when its closed

You can see the edge of the "mat" on the lower right corner of the colony...it's GSP.

As for keeping it isolated, it's easy to keep it on a single rock as long as it isn't touching anything else (another rock, tank wall, etc.).
