what is this thing?

    i dont know what this is.
    its purple in color with white spots,heart shaped with a purple stem sticking out of the V part that it moves it self with, looks like a heart shaped leaf....

    Looks like some kind of nudibranch. I would quarantine it until you get a 100% ID.

    my guess if it is moving is a type of nudibranch. it resembles a goniopora. that may be what it feeds on. complete guess though

    ive had some nudibranch and this cant be what it is. this thing flips or pushes its self with it purple stem looking thing, it has no mouth just the tubes sticking up on the top, that it can pull in.

    +1 on the Nudibranch...Some are safe, some eat coral. You need Id. Google Nudibranch and use image search to see if you can match him.

    you would be suprised with the shapes and forms which nudibranches come in.

    the tube that are sticking up out of the top are the only opening on this thing. so it has to be a filter feeder its about the size of a 50 cent peace and ive looked and cant find anything close to looking like this thing..

    ya but every nudibranches ive seen looks like a slug on the bottem, no matter the color or size
