What is this?

    Could someone tell me what this white thing might be. It came on my new shroom rock.

    That would be Aptasia. A huge Aquarium pest that can multiply to out of control level. There are no redeeming qualities an should be removed.

    Do a search for Aptasia and you will find hundreds of posts

    The stony base tells me that it's not aiptasia but I'll be darned if I can remember the name of that animal.

    Yep, it's has a calceraous skeleton. I remember that species, I think it's related with the Galaxea coral.

    It looks like what I would call a "cup coral"
    A bunch came in on my live rock several years ago. They are interesting ;)

    My thoughts to the T. They typically come in on Atlantic live rock.

    Ok I looked at it again. Some one is going to have to convince me it's not aptasia. Any one have a pic of a different one

    i know thats not an aptasia i cant remember the name of them but i have some of them in my tank they never seemed to hurt anything ill have to look to see if i cant find the name again
