:( My Achilles tang is constantly pecking at my Green Apple and Red Monti Caps... :( I would expect this out of my Angelfish, but my achilles? :(

Keep some nori in there for it, is it going for the monti or around the base?

I could keep ten sheets of nori in my tank and my fish would still have it gone in seconds LOL. he nips towards the center of the monti. not the rim or the base of it or underside. Im just not wondering If something was stuck on there that I didnt see and he was just eating it off..? The monti doesnt seem damaged.

This blurb is from a website which lists a number of reef safe fish. See it here for the fish in addition to tangs.

Surgeonfish (the tangs)make great reef tank occupants. Being herbavores, they eat only algae, leaving your invertebrates and corals alone. The size to which some tangs grow may cause a problem in smaller tanks in the future.

I'd guess that your tang is eating something of interest off the monti and green apple, rather than the corals.

Maybe yours is just "special?" ;)

I'm sure he was just eating some good grub off the corals. No worries!! Your achilles loves you and wouldn't eat your corals!

:p I hope my fish would love the hand that feeds them LOL. I know my achilles likes to chase pods around and pick at them... I bet it was one of those on there... He has stayed clear of my montis as of now :)
