What to get

Ok I have a 24g nano. I have a Clown, and a Damsel. They are happy. I have a toadstool and a Pink Pearl bubble coral.

In a few weeks I want to get another fish. I am just not sure what to get. I know my tank is not big enough for a trigger but I would love to have one.. Maybe if i ever get a bigger tank..

Is there anything out there like a trigger? Or anything I can get and keep my tank happy?

 

Hmmmmm. How do you feel about a dwarf angel, like a coral beauty or flame angel? They don't get too big and most of them are reef safe. It depends on the individual, but most are OK with corals.

 

I second the Coral Beauty, although some will say the tank is too small, I have kept them successfully in a 10, 14 and 55 gal. If not that, I like the Royal Gramma also. You can't beat either one for color and activity.

 

Thanks!! Anything else to look into? Those are cool fish but looking for something unique. IDK being picky i guess.

I really like these 2 but after doing some reading it says that the Valentini is not reef safe... I would love to get that fish. So are they not reef safe?

 

I have a that Vanetini puffer in my 26gal..all i ever see it do is hunt the rocks for the PODS.. I have yet see it go after the Few and i mean few corals i have ... One thing i have noticed with mine lately is that he likes to go after the trunks on my nasarius nails. then he leaves them alone..

Keep in mind to Every fish like a person has its own personality to a extent.

I read your thread. Nice Tank BTW.. I am worried that it will eat my entire cleaning crew and nip at my bubble coral and toadstool.

 

Oh ok my clean up crew is:
1 Turbo Snail
1 Brittle Star
1 Sand Sifter Star
1 Horse shoe Crabb
10 Hermits
10 Nasarius snails
1 Pumpkin urchin
Corals
Kenya Tree
Zoa's
Mushroom's
Nothin listed above has been litteraly eaten by my puffer..Just the trunks of my nasarius snails. And i have them all still..

Going by what the Marine Fishes book say Yes there are not reef safe.. Meanin they "may" nip at some live shrimp and clam mantle's

If you Purchase the fish it will be a 50/50 chance it will nip at your live stock or it will leave it alone.. I to am the type of person i tend to over feed alil to keep it happy so my corals and other things will not be next on the menu..

Or the other option is to always ooggle at the puffer at your lfs...
