hmm i probably wouldnt be able to soak it in a net because i use liquid garlic and the food wouldn't get a chance to soak up the garlic, i just use a little container filled with tank water and let the food soak up and thaw out for a while. The net idea is interesting though, i haven't heard of that

I prefer to feed the juice from the frozen shrimp, my tubeworms and sponges will filter it out. I am also feeding a few drops of yeast every 2-3 days and my sponges are slowly getting bigger and more abundant from my observations so far.

You could soak /thaw it in a little container, and after that pour it over the net? That way the food would soak up the garlic first ;D

To answer your question on haw much to feed at a time, I just add a pipette of food and observe if it gets eaten straight away then I'll add a second pipette and thats it. Each pipette contains around 20-30 small shrimp. I also do not feed in the same place each time so that one fish can't get all the food during the feed.

In the morning I will add a small pinch of flakes (6-10), and then some shrimp and then later on a small amount of granules (very small pellets).

IMO it is over-feeding and it's not necessary to feed that much, fish are always wanting food. If you think less than a day is too little try just twice a day, I think the reason that you haven't had problems while over-feeding is the amount of water in the whole system.

that of a fish having 3 second memory lol its a myth. ( if thats what you meant by think less than a day) ive read tons of articles in which its says that they actually have the capacity to remember things up to 3 months.::):p

No, I meant that they are very opportunistic and if there is food they will most likely eat it, even if they are not hungry. Like goldfish, which have actually learned how to beg for food.
