The staff of Blackpool aquarium in Lancashire found a couple carpet shark eggs recently which caused a sensation. Not for the success of the eggs, mind you, but because they had no idea they had a carpet shark in there. In fact, they still haven't found it. I suppose when you have a 132,086 gallon aquarium you can be forgiven for not knowing such a thing. So don't feel so bad next time you find something in your tank. It happens.

How weird. That would be one helluva hitchhiker if it came in on live rock or sand.

Holy crap! That's crazy that they didn't notice a shark. I wonder how it got in there or could they eggs have been a hitch hiker themselves on some new addition???

Ok.... I obviously don't know much about sharks, but I thought a female would not lay an unfertilized egg...... If this is the case, then wouldn't they have to have 2 of the guys in there?
