Working on putting my first sump/fuge together and need reassurance that I bought the right silicone.

I picked up GE II,clear 100% silicone,is this the right stuff for my baffles?

No. I was told to use the GE Silicone I, NOT II.

use GE Silicone I "window and door"...It's a Blue tube

Red tube = "Kitchen and bath" and will kill everything. RED = STOP

yeah, I've always read GE 1, and not 2 because it has mildew inhibitors in it. Lowes has one in a blue tube by locitite maybe that says "aquarium safe" on it, its usually near the paints with the super glue

I have read that there is a version of 2 that is safe, but I'd be careful. If it says 100% silicone and no other ingredients, you're probably safe, but not sure I'd risk it.

Crap....Ya,thats the thing,I was thinking it was #1,but while reading the labels of both at the store, then I couldn't remember which it was .

I don't see anything on the tube that refers to anything about being mold or mildew resistant, says 100% silicone.

My tube has blue and gold writting on it.Lowes=40 min across town

And DBO it does say for windows and doors, says nothing about kitchen and bath.

Ok,just got off the phone with GE,and yuuup,i screwed up.Even though not mentioned, yes #2 still has the mold inhibitors in it.It has to be #1.

Lowes must of been out of the window and door, because the only #1 i seen there was kitchen and bath,so that would explain my confusion. Thanks guys, glad I double checked.

I got my GE I at Walmart if that helps or is closer. Also, i know it says that it cures soon than this, but wait 24 hours at least.

Cute how they don't have to mention that on the packaging.

Yeah, lol,I always thought 100% of anything is 100%,anything more or less is not 100%.

I'm glad I asked on here and called as theres nothing on the tube to lead me to believe that this would'nt be safe for my tank.

And thanks for the heads up jmann,I got a wally world ten min from me
