Which MH looks better?

    I have a choice between Phoenix 14k 250watt DE bulb or a 250watt 14k DE SPS bulbs. Which do you guys think would be the better light as for amount of lighting as well as look, I want a bluer look to my tank so which one would you guys go with?

    regardless of the ballast... the phoenix will have higher PAR and a slightly bluer look. Even though the SPS 10k and 20k are amazing bulbs, their 14k really is terrible. it has one of the lowest PAR readings ive ever seen and the color is similar to the SPS 10k anyways...

    i have a phoenix 14k and i absolutely love it. i don't even run actinics anymore while the MH is on. serious blue, the corals look amazing under it

    Can someone show me a picture of what a pheoniz 14k bulb 250watt would look like on a tank.

    Go with the Phoenix bulb. It will last you longer then the SPS bulb. And the Blue on it has a better value.

    Phoenix 14k all the way. After comparing next to the SPS 14K bulb, the 14k looks washed out and yellow.
