Octopus NW 150 or Vertex IN 100

I like the vertex because it has the turbulence reducing bubble plate chamber. and its really tall. But the octopus is widly used pretty common. what do you guys think?

I wouldn't buy either. If you want to stay with the octopus type, I would go ASM G1-X. Otherwise, I would seriously consider the bullet series. The Bullet-2 would serve you nicely think. The Octopus is a fine product, and you would get some good use out of it. But honestly, I think there are several better models out there to choose from. My five favorite in sump types in order of preference are Bullet, ETSS, AquaC, ASM and Octopus.

Vertex is a good skimmer from what I understand. Bubble King just released a new cone skimmer and had Vertex mass produce it. If BK trusts Vertex, I would think it's a good sign.
