Yer the hippo seems to just flow along and is relatively care free... Do u think I would be playing with fire if i tried to introduce both a convict and a kole tang together? do u think these 3 will all fight? the tank is 135 gallons and is fairly big with lots of rock to hide. I just dont wanna start a fight and have to go to too much trouble with fighting fish...

I've done my research on Convicts and it seems that they are more suseptable to get bullied than to bully other tangs. They are the least aggressive of the tangs and thier dorsal spine is the smallest.

    Thanks!!

It would be a bigger risk adding the convict and kole together because they have similar body types, however, if one of the fish is significantly smaller than the other, the risk of aggression would be lower, IME.

Well my hippo tang is about 3 inches now, so do u think if i got a kole tang the same size as the hippo, and a convict tang that was say 4.5 inches, do u think that would reduce all chances of aggression?

Should i add them at the same time? or one before the other?

    Thanks!!

That should work out fine and I would add them at the same time. Keep in mind that a kole tang is very shy so it might hide out in the rockwork for a while after you introduce it.

One other thing, if/when you add the fish, try to reduce feeding a bit until the bacteria in your tank has a chance to catch up to the new bioload. You can avoid a large nitrate spike by doing so.

Okay cool, so should i still feed the other fish with the light out to reduce aggression? and then reduce feeding?

Right. You don't need to feed very much when the lights are out, just enough to distract your existing fish while you add the new ones, hopefully, reducing initial aggression.
