Good looking tank. The black sand is great. Hope much trouble is it to keep the sand looking clean?

    Time for a picture update.

    I added a BuildMyLED custom actinic fixture with 14 450nm, 12 470nm, 2 420nm, and 2 405nm diodes.
Since the primary fixture had plenty of white including two 3000k warm whites, I just wanted to supplement with actinic and provide a deeper blue especially along the back which is slowly being encrusted by green cyphastrea without introducing any more red light into the tank.

Recently I've added a few new stonies.
Red and Yellow Lobo and some montiporas.
All of the monti's are growing fast and encrusting nicely. green/ red polyps, mystic, orange
Green and Purple birdsnet that bleached, so I put it on the bottom until it regains its color.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Looks really great. I like the Coco Worm, and the Orange tree sponge very much. How do you like your Fire Fish? One of my favorite fish for a small tank.
The cyphastrea is doing well, it will be interesting to see how it grows out.

Thanks Corailline. The sponge is local, you see usually them on ledges around 60 ft. I wanted something on the back wall other than GSP, so this neon green cyphastrea will should be real nice once its covered some area. Considering I removed the stem of its frag plug with a vice and saws-all a few months ago, the cyphastrea is doing pretty good now.

We love the purple firefish, it has surprisingly more personality than their white/orange schooling cousins.

It's about time for a photo update. Over the past few months I have lost a few corals and zoas, while others have flourished.

I think the past issues were caused by ph and alkalinity swings from the kalk/ato combo and water changes.

Now I mix the kalkwasser to half of saturation.

These corals came from my local LFS, the Hillsboro Inlet (zoas), and Legendary Corals, which has top notch costumer service.

I hope y'all like what my little tank has become.
