White "sponge" like stuff

    I have this white stuff in my sump and it's everywhere down there... it looks like dead sponges but they are definately proliferating. They even feel spongy. I would take a pic but i think it would be useless. Anyone else ever have this?:confused:

    I hope someone responds I have the same thing, I was once told it was a sponge though.

    gah... really some how i doubt my tank would do well enough to allow this many sponges to proliferate. ill post a pic but i bet it wont help.

    probably sponges...white doesn't need light but nothing fan like...i have some sponges like what you describe, makes good fish food.

    ya thanks. you know what they are more formed now... for sure pineapple sponges! hundreds of them.
