i've had a pair of baby oc clowns for about two weeks now. everything was fine until this evening when i came home. one of them is swimming vertically. kinda staying in one spot but looks like it's swimming. then it swims down a bit and does the same thing.it's kinda close top the surface. the other one seems normal.
why i'm worried is because the power was out today for about 7hrs.it's been back about 4hrs now. the tank is 80 gallons with just those fish though.

It could be a couple of things. First off, what are your params and how did they change with the power outage, if any change at all? If something happened while the power was out, then it could just be stressed. If that's the case, then time will tell if it gets better.

Or, your clowns could be maturing and establishing dominance. In that case, the one that is swimming normal would be the female, the more agressive one. She has probably been asserting her dominance and chasing the other one around. After some time, the other one, male, will hopefully give in to her dominance, the pairing will be complete, and all will be well again.

if its swimming in circles then its not doing acrobatics, its doing the death swim.

you said this evening... how late? when my clowns sleep they like to fall asleep on the rock they host then slowly they float up to the surface and stay there the rest night, sometimes sleeping vertically

i couldn't respond before b/c power went out again. parameters haven't changed, everything's good. i can't measure dissolved oxygen though.
the fish isn't trying to get away or going in circles. it's just straight up and moving it's tail very very quickly. it's looking hyper. is this normal with clowns. is there anything i can do?

one more question. if it is swim bladder disease caused by overeating, then this would have happened just after he ate? he was normal when i left in the morning and didn't get fed until i came home, but he was already upright.

the clown that was swimming normally was resting on the bottom, then swimming to the top then dropping down. it just died. the other one is still doing the same.
