So as a few of you know I tore the labral in my shoulder last year right before thanksgiving and my shoulder specialist refused to do surgery, well after 6 months of PT and still no luck on it staying in socket any better than it has I finally got approval for a second opinion so I go this friday to get the mri's reviewed with another doctor who will hopefully just say let's cut in there and fix it.

Good luck! I know that's annoying and painful. A good surgeon should give you a much improved result.

Good luck to you! Why did the first doc refuse to do surgery?

don't know the guy acted annoyed that I was even there, took him 3 weeks to write up the paperwork for me to go get an MRI after the xrays of course showed nothing since it wasn't a broken bone, it was a torn ligament, after the mri he wouldnt get me in for another 2 weeks, from the initial visit to the time of the first mri review with him was a course of 8 weeks total, literally from early november 08 till 1-6-09 when the mri's were done and another 2 weeks after that, from this moment I'm hoping this doc says I need the surgery, simple fact is ligaments dont heal on their own, the idea of the first doc was build more muscle around it to keep it in socket, so 8 weeks of physical therapy and a few months in the gym with a personal trainer and several thousands of dollars later I get to go get a 2nd opinion, thing that sucks is if this guy wants to cut it I'll have to redo the physical therapy but the muscle I've gained will still help, that and I went from 56% body fat to 39% with the personal trainer so far, my weight has stayed the same still 6'3" and 215 just not fat anymore overall I feel way better just need my shoulder to not hurt
