well 2nd opinion was today, did another x-ray set and reviewed the previous mri's again. the cyst in my shoulder created by the tear has gotten worse as well as bone spurs are starting to form in the socket due to it popping in and out of joint, set a surgery date for 6-17

I tell ya dude. The wait sucks. For me the MRI was on 12/5/08, then the appointment with the doc on 1/15/09, then it took five weeks for the insurance to approve the fusion. THEN the surgery scheduled for 3/12. Couldn't believe it. So I feel for ya. Pain sucks.

Just make sure this doc you are going to has done the procedure a few times. That was my big thing. I wasn't going to have a kid fresh out of medical school slice and dice.

yeah this guy has done the surgery a lot of times, he's actually the guy that fixed montell williams shoulder a few years ago, i told him I wouldnt hold that against him but still the guy seems to know his stuff, we weighed a few different options that were non-surgical but really this is deal with alot of pain for a short time then 0 pain for the rest of my life hopefully, the other options would limit me forever and always have some pain, i can deal with the short suffering with the knowledge that if everything goes the way it should I have a 95% chance of 0 pain in 6 months and 100% use of my arm again

Good luck with whatever happens man. I already know I eventually will need to have my rotater cuff worked on (just so you know it's not a good idea to pop a dislocated shoulder in yourself then never have a doc check it ;) ) and I have just been holding off till I cant stand it any more. Shoulder surgeries are not pleasant after wards from what I hear.

yeah from what the doc told me it's pretty much as painful as it gets for about a week afterwords then it mellows out, and thats if the can do it all orthoscopically if it's traditional surgery just take so many pain killers your a zombie for a month after unless you want to be miserable
