my zoas and mushrooms took about a month to start growing, and now they all think they're weeds in a rose garden. Little do they know they're my roses :p

The "buds" on zoas especially can be hard to see at first if they're growing between existing heads. Wait till lights are off and they close up then spot them with a flash light ... or nudge them gently with a finger to get them to close up. If there are little bumps between the larger polyps those are the new ones growing.

Some grow faster than others. I got a new blueish-purple zoa that started popping off new heads from day one, my "green bay packers" are much slower. In almost 2 months I am just barely seeing new heads on them.

Mushrooms.... they go at their own pace.

Are you spot feeding them? I feed all mine a couple times a week and I think that accounts for some of the rapid growth. That and I have MH lighting...
