So i have had this 2 stock elongata xenia for about a week now, i know xenia grows VERY fast and i hope it grows fast in my tank, but is it going to grow faster with low flow? or medium or high flow? And is it better to have it at the top of the tank? I have mine at the top of the tank and seems to be doing fine but is it going to encourage it to grow FASTER!!!

ive been trying to get my xenia to grow for months now but it seemed impossible. But i kept it from dying off. The big thing i found for it to grow, is it loooves calcium. it eats it up when spreading. I usually have it in a low flow area, but if i notice it is dying i move the powerhead to blow on it and that makes it come back to life. I havent had much success but maybe these tips may help you. Best of Luck

Thanks, i do 5g water changes a week to replenish calcium so hopefully it will take off soon.

oh and about placement. In most aquariums i see it thriving close to the light, I even saw a video of some person who had it covering their back glass. it looked so nice, but made you dizzy if you tried to focus on it.

Yeah, some dude named ZZman got me started on xenia, AMAZING how quickly it grew..

Honestly, i dont care what people say about it..If i could get this to grow fast enought, i would take every coral off my rocks and have xenia forest in my tank all of the rocks and have nicer corals on the sand.

I have a fairly large Xenia area in my tank. I reccomend high on the rocks and a lot of flow. Calcium can also help xenia. I got a very small frag of xenia about 7 months ago and it grew so much that I now have to just cut some off sometimes to make room! It is very beautiful though.
