My pulsing xenia is very happy and splitting off giant stalks. These stalks just find the low flow areas and stay there. How do I attach them to the rock. Can I just wedge them in a hole, or is there some better way?

Thanks! I'm clueless as to coral things ::)

:p You could take like a liter soda bottle, cut it so its just a cylinder shaped tube and put a bunch of random rock chunk/rubble in there and put your stalks in there so they can attach... :) home made frags? :D!

Haha sounds good, but I have no rubble :(

Could buy some I guess. Maybe I'll try wedging a stalk into a hole and seeing if that works!

I've always seen my LFS use rubber bands to make them stick.
Basically, grab a small rock, put the stalk on it so the bottom forms an "L" and twist the rubber band on the lower part of the "L" meaning this part ---> " _ "
It may lay horizontal, but then they come back upwards in search of better light I guess.

It seems that after a few days they attach to the rock and grow over the rubber band, so it can't be removed.

    Good luck!!

Okay, that sounds doable! I guess I better go buy some rubble.
