Will a Yellow Tang and a CopperBand do good together. Or is the similiar shape going to be an issue?

Are CopperBand Butterflies truly reef safe?

    Thank's

    Danny welcome home

they might have issues due to the shape especcially if the one with the blade is the resident when the buttefly is added

Copperbands - the long nose is designed to allow them to remove live critters from holes and crevices in rocks and the old adage was , with butterflies the longer the nose, the more reef safe they are in terms of corals - but obviously fan worms , dusters etc are on the menu

Butterflys are know to nip when they dont have a propper diet. Also i've read alot of posts where Yellow Tangs will beat on Copperband Butterflys but they are usually some of the nicer tangs. There is a little risk with both but make sure your LFS will do returns and try it out!

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I would introduce the Copper banded first and give it a couple of weeks and than a smaller sized tang.

With the copper I have only had them pick at BTA's.
