My purple Tang has never displayed any aggression towards the clowns I have. And I believe the Purple Tang is a Tad more aggressive then the yellow.

1-1.5 for both. Purple is on the border of 5.5-6". I had a yellow tang in my 30g when i was dumb and new to this and he dealt with my clowns just fine.

I had them in my 120 with my tangs, decided to move them into my 30g and have that out in another room. I have a few fish that dont agree with corals so figured Id use my 30g for my clowns and corals :).

ok thanks for the input. k+
i was reading up on yellow tangs and some places said they could be aggressive so i was worried b/c the clowns were small, but i sounds like it should be fine. especially if u had them in a 30g for a while. plus that purple tang is kinda big.

The purple may not bother them cause they are alot smaller. When I had a yellow tang it was about 2.5inch's and left my clowns alone and they where in a much more confined space. Took the yellow back after having some sense knocked into me about tank sizes and read up alot! and then took the plunge for the 120g!

    +k for good luck :D.

so the yellow tang can be aggressive to things that are added after it because it gets territorial... other yellowed colored fish will be bullied.

My yellow doesnt even look at my clowns let alone bother them, but it likes to follow around the mandarin a lot lol

My yellow tang is 4-5 inches and has never displayed aggression towards anything. My clowns on the other hand immediately went after my mandarin less than a second after he hit the water.

ok well it sounds like everything should be fine.
should i wait to put the tang in as my last fish. i would also like to get a fairy wrasse, six line, dwarf angel (flame maybe) and a fire fish.would this be overstocked? i wanted to wait until i got a cover before getting any of the other fish and also until the tank was more mature to add the flame. i also just really really like the tang and think it would add a lot of life, color and movement to the tank. is their aggression to later added fish a major problem or will it pass?

Six lines can be very aggressive. That should be your last addition.
